Opportunity
Kössinger AG is a Germany based company providing its clients
with ceramic, porcelain and textile representative goods for over
25 years. With 250 employees, subdivisions in Asia and East-Europe,
it is a leading representative goods manufacturer in Europe that
made over 12 millions products for 15 thousands contracts. Being
a representative goods manufacturer, Kössinger AG is strongly
concerned about effective and innovative products presentation and
advertisement.
Solution
The company wanted to improve their products online presentation
with a tool that would allow for dynamic 3D models simulation and
presentation. Two different approaches were developed to emphasize
the products exclusiveness.
The first demonstration was made to show clients how a product (a
mug, for example) would look like if it was made with a picture
or photo at customer's option on it. We produced a number of models
representing real ceramic and porcelain products using 3D MAX Studio,
developed a Java application that allowed rendering of multiple
object positions with an overlaid picture the client wanted to use,
implemented webmaster interface to manage pictures and models. The
latter allows company managers without any technical skills to make
product demonstrations for any particular client. Moreover, clients
do not need to visit Kössinger AG. All they need to do is to
e-mail the picture to the company and to choose the model they want
and watch demonstrations from their home or office.
The second demonstration was made to show vessels with pictures
printed with thermosensitive paint. Flash movies were produced to
show how the picture on the vessel changed when hot water was poured
or ice was put. Additionally, a web site flash introduction and
flash movies for a number of site pages were created.
Benefits
The launch of enhanced web site has allowed Kössinger AG to
improve and extend substantially the convenience of online features.
Customers repeatedly stated that it was the type of Web site that
they expected from a customer-oriented company. Additionally, our
solution is expected to allow Kössinger AG to reduce operating
expenses significantly cutting down the traveling costs for meetings
with customers, and to attract more clients through the web site
simplifying communication process of company managers and customers.
